Experts say that lifts should be changed about every 20 years to keep them safe and in good shape. To modernize, old control systems must be replaced with new ones, motors must be upgraded to use less energy and new safety features must be added. If you don't do regular upkeep, the life of the item could be cut short and need to be replaced after only 10 years. Controlling the temperature, doing regular checks, and cleaning are also very important. The call station and cab interior may need to be fixed up after 15 years.
