Product Description
The Bursting Strength Tester measures how much pressure paper, cardboard, fabric or leather can take before it tears - it works from 0 to 40 Kg/cm² and reads changes as small as 0.1 Kg/cm². The upper clamp holds the sample with a 35.5 mm opening - the lower clamp uses a 38.1 mm opening. Both grips keep the test piece flat while pressure rises. The frame is built in India from hardened steel and aluminum - it does not warp or leak under load. A piston forces oil against the underside of the specimen until the material ruptures - a digital screen records the peak pressure. Packers use the figure to check cartons - mills use it to grade cloth. Each test follows the same clamp size, pressure rate and burst detection method - later tests match earlier ones.
