A portable or mobile toilet (colloquial terms: thunderbox, portaloo, porta-john or porta-potty) is any type of toilet that can be moved around, some by one person, some by mechanical equipment such as a truck and crane.The main component of the portable toilet is lightweight sheet plastic, such as polyethylene, which forms the actual toilet unit as well as the cabana in which it is contained. A pump and holding tank form the portable sewage system. The facility is also equipped with a chemical supply container and inlet tube.For portable toilets, cleaning includes using high pressure spray hoses to clean away bugs, dirt, sand, and more from the inside of the stall, “clearing” the holding tank of human waste, and then moving onto sanitizing.
