Hydrostatic pressure testing, sometimes simply called hydrostatic testing or hydro testing, is a test that is used to find leaks in a pressurized system. These tests are typically performed on pipelines, boilers, fuel tanks, gas cylinders, and your home's sewer line.Because both pressure and temperature lead to a decrease in Yield strength of the material. However a hydro test can only recreate the pressure and not the temperature, so in order to compensate for the stress due to temperature, an additional pressure effect is added.
