A reverse osmosis plant is a manufacturing plant where the process of reverse osmosis takes place. Reverse osmosis is a common process to purify or desalinate contaminated water by forcing water through a membrane. R.O. stands for “rough opening.” It is the roughed-out space or opening where a window is to be installed. The R.O. should be approximately 7/8“ larger than the outside measurement (OSM) of the window frame. When measuring the R.O., it is important to have accuracy and consistency. Here's a quick way to figure out how much RO actually produces: The GPD calculation. Simply divide the number by 24 to get an hourly water production rate. 5760/128 (ounces per gallon) = 45 gallons/day. There are two types of RO plants; one is the domestic RO plant made to suit the needs at a smaller level. The second is the commercial/industrial RO plant made to suit water needs at a more significant level like schools, hospitals, etc.
