A shot blasting machine is a surface preparation equipment in which the steel grits/steel shots are accelerated and thrown on the surface of a material object at high speed by means of blasting turbines. In the 1930s, American companies made the world's first shot blasting machine.Shot blasting is a way of ridding the surface of non-eco-friendly chemicals while leaving a smooth, polished and matte surface that is environmentally safe. The use of shot blasting also provides the ability for metal workers to ensure the steel surface is free of any faults or defects.Shot blasting is a heavy-duty form of abrasive blasting and, as a result, is commonly applied to durable materials. These will commonly be metals such as aluminium, stainless steel, iron, steel titanium, and more.Steel grit and shot are generally available with diameters of 0.007–0.078 in. Steel grit is angular in shape, whereas shot is round. Steel grit and shot have one of the lowest breakdown rates of all blast media and can, therefore, be recycled and reused.
