This toothed, circular piece is designed to wear out over time, as it prevents the motor from getting damaged when a jar becomes stuck or overloaded. There are two main types of couplers in a standard mixer grinder: Motor coupler: This coupler is permanently attached to the main body of the mixer grinder. It is driven by the motor. Jar coupler: This coupler is attached to the base of the jar, which connects to the blades inside. When the jar is placed on the motor base, the teeth of the jar coupler interlock with the teeth of the motor coupler.
