The Raychem 33 kV, 3-Core x 300 mm² Outdoor Termination Kit (often model EPKT or HVT-M) is a heat-shrinkable solution designed for terminating medium-voltage XLPE or PILC cables in outdoor environments like substations and overhead lines . Technology: Uses high-performance heat-shrinkable polyolefin materials that provide a weather-resistant, non-tracking, and erosion-resistant surface. Voltage Class: Specifically rated for 33 kV (up to 36 kV Um). Cable Compatibility: Engineered for 3-core, 300 mm² XLPE (Cross-linked Polyethylene) or PILC power cables. Application: Suitable for harsh outdoor conditions, featuring strong resistance to UV rays, moisture, and chemical exposure. Key Components Anti-Tracking Tubing: Red insulating sleeves that protect the cable cores from tracking and environmental degradation. Stress Control: Special Zinc Oxide-based stress control tubes or mastics (SCTM technology) that manage electrical stress at the screen cut-off point. Rain Sheds (Skirts): Conical "skirts" included to increase the creepage distance and prevent continuous water filming during rain. Trifurcating Breakout: A heat-shrink "boot" that seals the crutch of the 3-core cable where it splits into individual phases. Earthing Kit: Includes tin-plated copper braids and mechanical or solderless earth connections. Sealing Mastics: Moisture-blocking mastics to seal the lug area and the breakout boot.
