The 33kV "Dog" Medium Voltage Covered Conductor (MVCC) is a high-performance overhead power line designed for medium-voltage distribution. It features an aluminium-based core protected by a multi-layered insulation system, allowing it to withstand environmental stresses and accidental contact without short-circuiting. . Core Construction (The "Dog" Specification) Conductor Name: "Dog" is the animal-inspired code name for a conductor with a nominal cross-sectional area of 100 mm². Material Options: ACSR (Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced): Typically consists of 6 aluminium strands (approx. 4.72 mm diameter) over a 7-strand steel core (approx. 1.57 mm diameter) for high tensile strength. AAAC (All Aluminium Alloy Conductor): Uses high-strength 6201 aluminium alloy strands, such as a 19/2.89 mm configuration, offering better corrosion resistance and lighter weight. Water Blocking: The stranded core often incorporates a longitudinal water-blocking compound to prevent moisture ingress along the conductor.
