A chilling plant is a mechanical device used to facilitate heat exchange from water to a refrigerant in a closed loop system. The refrigerant is then pumped to a location where the waste heat is transferred to the atmosphere.An industrial chiller is a refrigeration system used to lower the temperature of machinery, industrial spaces, and process fluids by removing heat from the system and transferring it elsewhere.Chilling retards spoilage and prevents food deterioration poisoning by slowing the growth of microbes (present in all food) during storage. Thus, chilling improves the extension of life of the food product in good condition. Chilling cannot improve the quality of a poor food product.
