A 66kV Outdoor Termination Kit for cable sizes 400 sq.mm or 630 sq.mm is an Extra High Voltage (EHV) accessory used to connect underground single-core XLPE cables to outdoor equipment like transformers or overhead lines. These kits are essential for controlling electrical stress and providing environmental sealing in high-voltage networks. Technical Specifications Voltage Class: 66 kV. Cable Type: Single-core XLPE or EPR insulated cables (Armoured or Unarmoured). Conductor Sizes: Compatible with 400 sq.mm and 630 sq.mm. Technology Options: Heat Shrinkable: Uses cross-linked polyolefin tubes with anti-tracking and UV-resistant properties. Cold Shrinkable / Pre-moulded: Offers easier installation without a heat source. Operating Conditions: Max Ambient Temperature: Typically rated up to 70°C. Creepage Distance: Designed to meet IEC standards for various pollution levels. Key Features: Non-tracking outer insulation, heat-shrinkable stress control sleeves, and moisture-resistant sealing. Standard Kit Components Stress Control Tubes: To grade the electrical field at the cable screen cut-back. Anti-Tracking Outer Sleeves: Red or brown tubes resistant to UV and electrical erosion. Rainsheds: Mushroom-shaped skirts to increase surface insulation in wet weather. Earthing Materials: Tinned copper braids or mechanical connectors for grounding the cable screen/armour. Sealing Mastics: To prevent moisture ingress at the top and bottom of the termination.
