Solubility: Miscible with water and with ethanol (96%) Identification A (Relative density, 20°C): 0.790 to 0.793 Identification B (By Chemical test): An intense red colour should produce which becomes violet with the addition of 3.5 mL of acetic acid Identification C (By Chemical test): A greenish-blue colour should produce Appearance of solution: Clear and colourless solution Acidity or Alkalinity: Red or orange solution Relative density, 20°C: 0.790 to 0.793 Reducing substances: The mixture should not completely decolourise.
