When choosing a laptop battery, it's important to check compatibility in terms of voltage, size, and connector type, while also considering the battery's capacity, measured in mAh or Wh, for longer backup time. Original manufacturer (OEM) batteries are generally safer and more reliable, though slightly costlier, while third-party batteries can be cheaper but should be purchased from trusted suppliers. With proper care—such as avoiding extreme heat, not fully draining the battery often, and keeping the charge between 20–80%—a laptop battery can last between 2 to 5 years depending on usage.
