Monel 400 tubing is made from a nickel-copper alloy known for its excellent corrosion resistance and high strength, making it suitable for a variety of industrial applications. Monel 400 is composed primarily of nickel (about 63%) and copper (about 28-34%), with small amounts of iron, manganese, and other trace elements. This alloy is highly resistant to corrosion in a wide range of environments, including seawater, acidic and alkaline solutions, and high-temperature applications. Key Features of Monel 400 Tubing: Corrosion Resistance: Monel 400 is highly resistant to a variety of corrosive environments, including seawater, brine solutions, sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid, and alkaline solutions. High Strength: This alloy offers excellent mechanical properties, including high tensile strength and toughness, even in extreme temperatures ranging from subzero to over 1,000°F (538°C). Good Weldability: Monel 400 can be easily welded and fabricated using conventional welding techniques, making it versatile for a variety of construction and assembly processes. Resistance to Stress Corrosion Cracking: Monel 400 exhibits strong resistance to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking, which is important in applications involving saltwater or harsh chemical environments.
