Product Description1. Pencil hardness testers are used to measure the hardness of coatings, paints, and other materials. They are commonly used in the paint and coatings industry to ensure that products meet certain hardness requirements.2. Pencil hardness testers use a set of pencils with different lead grades, ranging from very soft (6B) to very hard (9H). The pencils are mounted in a holder and are used to make a series of scratches on the material being tested.3. The hardness of the material is determined by the pencil that makes the scratch that is just visible on the surface of the material. The higher the number of the pencil, the harder the material4. Pencil hardness testers are easy to use and provide quick results. They are also relatively inexpensive compared to other types of hardness testers.5. To use a pencil hardness tester, the operator selects a pencil with a particular lead grade and makes a series of scratches on the material being tested. The scratches are then inspected to determine the pencil that made the scratch that is just visible on the surface of the material.
