A COD Thermo Reactor (also called a COD Reactor, COD Digester, or Thermo-Reactor) is a laboratory heating/digestion device used in Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) testing. It heats sealed COD sample vials to a controlled high temperature for a set time so that the organic and some inorganic substances in the sample are oxidized by a strong oxidizing agent (commonly potassium dichromate) under standardized conditions. This digestion step is essential for accurate COD measurement. International Standards 1. ISO 15705:2002 — Water Quality (ST-COD Small-Scale Sealed-Tube Method)Title: Water quality — Determination of the chemical oxygen demand index (ST-COD) — Small-scale sealed-tube method Scope: Specifies a sealed-tube digestion method for COD using small glass tubes and a strong oxidant. This method is widely accepted for various water and wastewater samples. Aqualabo RD-010 COD thermo reactors are specifically designed to comply with ISO 15705 by providing the required temperature/time digestion cycle According to ISO 15705. This measuring station from AQUALABO® allows the accurate, rapid, and economical determination of waste water COD levels (Chemical Oxygen Demand). Includes a COD photometer, 25 tube tests covering lower measuring ranges, a reactor block for sample digestion and a tube stand. The required temperatures and reaction time can be selected by using the membrane keypad. The unit works at three different temperatures (100/120/150°C) and four pre-set reaction times (30/60/120/8 minutes). When digestion is complete, the reactor automatically switches off and gives a corresponding LED indication with short beep alarm. The RD 010 reactor is fitted with 24 holes for 16 mm diameter vials.
