ASTM A453 Grade 660 Class A heavy hex nuts are made from a high-temperature, corrosion-resistant austenitic stainless steel alloy primarily used in bolting applications for pressure vessels and high-temperature environments. This grade contains 24–27% Nickel, 13–17% Chromium, 1.5–2.5% Molybdenum, and 0.75% Titanium, offering excellent oxidation and creep resistance. It delivers a minimum tensile strength of 110 ksi (760 MPa) and yield strength of 75 ksi (515 MPa) at room temperature. These nuts are solution treated and strain-hardened to meet demanding mechanical performance under elevated temperatures. Ideal for turbine engines, nuclear plants, and petrochemical applications.
