RESIBOND THERMOSEAL 7010 is a neutral cure silicone sealant for automotive and industrial applications where high temperature is required. It can be resistant to temperature upto 310°C (Intermittent) and 250°C (Constant).
RESIBOND THERMOSEAL -7010 is a specially developed neutral cure silicone sealant which cures to a tough rubbery solid when exposed to moisture in the air. It is used for hi-temperature & heavy-duty applications. It replaces almost any gasket used in automobile & engineering applications. The gaskets made with Resibond Thermoseal-7010 resists cracking; shrinkage & migration caused by thermal cycling. Pre-cut gasket can be coated with Resibond Thermoseal – 7010 to increase reliability. APPLICATIONS Resibond Thermoseal -7010 sealant can be used for making and sealing of all types of gaskets where high temperature resistance is required. It is oil resistance so can be used in all engines. Also replaces paper, cork, silicone & rubber gasket. TECHNICAL DETAILS PROPERTIES TESTING SPECIFICATION UNIT STANDARD Physical state - Viscous Paste - Appearance - Translucent/ - Opaque Colour - Red Drying Time 120 µ - 8 -11 min Paste Density @25°C ASTM D 1475 1.0 – 1.02 gm/cc Elongation ASTM D-412 400 - 600 % Shore-A ASTM - D 2240 20 -22 - Breakaway load - 7.0- 15.0 Kg/cm2 Tack free time ASTM C-679-15 4 – 6 Hrs. Cure time - 3 – 4 hrs (1 mm Thickness) Cure time - 10- 13 hrs (3 mm Thickness) HOW TO USE • Surfaces must be clean, dry & free from grease and detergents. • Mask adjacent surfaces for neat application. • Cut tip of cartridge, cut nozzle to desired size at 45° angle, attach to cartridge, and place in caulking gun. • Apply sealant in continuous, steady flow. Push sealant ahead of nozzle contacting both sides of joint so it is completely filled. • Smooth sealant surface immediately after application before skin forms. Use spatula dipped in mild detergent. Remove masking tape before sealant skins. • Excess uncured sealant should be removed immediately with clean cloth damped in mineral turpentine.
