EDI unit that eliminates the need for messy chemicals The RO-EDI System is the most proven and safest chemical-free process for producing purified water. Hot water sanitization is an excellent method for preventing microorganism growth and biofilm formation without the use of harmful biocide chemicals. There is also the option of a two-pass RO system with intermediate EDI or RO-EDI with a final stage of UF. The basic structure of an EDI stack is similar to that of a deionization chamber. An ion exchange resin is packed between a cationic exchange membrane and an anionic exchange membrane in the chamber.
