Product Details
Banana fibers, which are concentrated near the outer surface, are extracted by hand scraping, chemically, by retting, or using raspadors. They can also be extracted by boiling leaf sheaths in sodium hydroxide solution. Hand-stripped fibers are generally of better quality than those obtained by raspador.There are various methods of fiber extraction, which include mechanical decortications, water retting process and manual extraction method. The extraction of fibers involves the retting process which is followed by the decortication process.
