The Polycab 2 Core x 1.5 sq mm Fire Alarm Cable is a specialized, flame-retardant cable designed for critical fire detection and security systems. It is primarily used to connect fire alarm panels to detectors, sounders, and other emergency equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Key Specifications Conductor: High-conductivity stranded plain annealed bare copper (Class 2) for reliable signal transmission. Insulation: XLPE (Cross-Linked Polyethylene), offering superior thermal stability and higher resistance to moisture and chemicals compared to standard PVC. Voltage Grade: Rated for 600/1000V (1.1 KV). Armouring: Typically features Galvanised Steel (GI) round wire armour for mechanical protection against physical damage or rodent attacks. Outer Sheath: FRLS (Flame Retardant Low Smoke) PVC in a standard Red colour for easy identification in fire safety installations. Operating Temperature: Maximum conductor temperature of 90°C during normal operation and 250°C under short-circuit conditions. Performance Benefits Fire Safety: FRLS properties ensure minimal fire spread and reduced emission of toxic gases and smoke during an emergency.
