A two post hydraulic lift works on following principle that putting pressure on a non-compressible fluid in a cylinder will exert equal force to all sides of the container. A Hydraulic Two post lift consists of two upright columns with four adjustable arms attached to a carriage assembly and two hydraulic cylinders.Instead a Floorplate two-post lift routes hydraulic lines across the floor, between the columns, and under a rugged panel. In other words, the floorplate assembly is mounted on the concrete and you can drive larger vehicles across it.There are two different types of 2-post lifts, an overhead model and a floor-plate model. The main difference between these two models is that one has an overhead bar connecting the two posts, while the other has a plate running across the floor connecting the posts. This helps to stabilize the posts while in use.
