Lifts are typically made of steel and powered by air or hydraulic cylinders. The mechanism allows the equipment to handle load capacities of up to 1500lbs (680kg).The second type of motorcycle lifts are powered by air but utilizes an air pump to push hydraulic fluid into the lifting cylinder. The air pump is activated by a foot operated pedal on top of the air pump.
