An inflatable seal is a specialized type of rubber seal that can be expanded by air or fluid pressure to create a tight, reliable seal between surfaces.
🔧 How it works- In its relaxed state, the seal is slightly smaller than the gap
- When pressurized (usually with air), it inflates outward
- This expansion fills irregular gaps and creates a uniform sealing force
- When pressure is released, it deflates and allows easy opening or movement
- Adapts to uneven or variable gaps
- Provides strong sealing even with low mechanical force
