A Blender Mixer Powder Charging System enables safe, dust-free, and efficient transfer of powders, granules, and blends into V-Blenders, Double Cone Blenders, Octagonal Blenders, or Ribbon Mixers. The system ensures closed-loop material charging, eliminating manual scooping, reducing contamination risk, and improving batch accuracy.

Using either vacuum transfer, gravity feed, or pneumatic conveying, the charging system delivers material directly into the blender’s inlet port or loading hatch. It is designed with cGMP-compliant stainless-steel construction, quick-clean features, and a smooth internal finish to prevent material buildup. Integrated interlocks ensure safe operation during loading and mixing cycles.

Ideal for pharmaceutical, chemical, nutraceutical, and food industries, the system enhances productivity, operator safety, and overall process hygiene.

The Blender Mixer Powder Charging System operates by transferring material from bags, drums, bins, or upstream equipment into the blender in a closed, dust-free manner. The working sequence is as follows:

1. Material Feeding

Powder or granules are fed into the transfer system through:

  • Bag dump station

  • Drum lifter/drum tipper

  • Silo/IBC/hoist-mounted container

  • Inline process equipment

A pre-filter or sieving unit can be included to remove lumps or foreign particles.

2. Conveying / Transfer Mode

Based on the application, the system uses one of the following technologies:

  • Vacuum conveying (most common): A vacuum pump creates negative pressure, pulling material through a conveying line and into a receiver positioned above or near the blender.

  • Gravity charging: Material is dumped directly into the blender via a raised IBC or hopper.

  • Pneumatic pressure conveying: Used for bulk or long-distance transfer.

Sensors continuously monitor the line, ensuring controlled material flow.

3. Material Reception & Buffering

The receiving hopper/loader above the blender collects the powder.
Key operations include:

  • Air separation and filtration

  • Batch weighing (optional load cells)

  • Level sensors to prevent overfilling

  • De-aeration before dumping

Filtered air is released through HEPA filters to maintain hygiene.

4. Charging into the Blender

Once the set quantity is collected:

  • A discharge valve (butterfly/rotary/knife gate) opens

  • Material flows directly into the blender inlet port

  • The system interlocks to ensure the blender is in safe charging mode

  • No dust escapes due to sealed connections and gaskets

5. Blender Sealing & Mixing

After charging:

  • The blender lid is closed

  • Interlocks confirm complete sealing

  • Blending begins (V-blender, Octagonal, Double Cone, or Ribbon Mixer)

6. End of Cycle

The system can operate in:

  • Batch mode (fixed quantity)

  • Continuous mode (automated refilling)

At the end:

  • Conveying line is purged

  • Loader is cleaned (CIP/WIP optional)

  • The blender proceeds to discharge after mixing
