Manufactured from brass (free-cutting or dezincification-resistant alloys), these inserts combine excellent corrosion resistance, good conductivity and dimensional stability. Common styles include press-fit, heat-set, ultrasonic, knurled/hex, and screw-in (self-tapping) inserts — each optimized for specific installation methods and load requirements. Brass inserts deliver superior pull-out and torque resistance compared with direct tapping in soft materials, reducing wear on mating fasteners and enabling repeated assembly/disassembly.
