The SKN Bentex BSD Motor Starter is a manually operated, oil-immersed Star-Delta starter used for controlling and protecting three-phase AC induction motors, commonly in agricultural (like submersible pumps) and industrial applications. The oil-immersion minimizes arcing and ensures durability for the heavy copper contacts, a vital feature for high-voltage switching. The Star-Delta mechanism is essential for motors typically ranging from 10 HP up to 60 HP, as it reduces the large initial starting current.
