A bulk flow meter is a large-capacity instrument designed to measure the flow of fluids (liquids, gases, or even solid powders) in bulk quantities.Common types of bulk flow meters1. Woltman type (Turbine) Best for: Bulk water measurement in large pipelines. How it works: A rotating turbine or impeller is inserted axially into the flow path. The flow of water causes the turbine to spin at a speed proportional to the flow rate. A magnetic coupling transmits this rotation to a sealed, dry-dial register. Key features: Designed for high flow capacities with low head loss. Highly durable, often made of cast iron or stainless steel.
