A motor base plate in an Air Handling Unit (AHU) is a structural component that provides a stable and secure mounting platform for the AHU's blower motor. Functions of a Motor Base Plate in an AHU: Motor Mounting Support – Provides a stable platform for the motor to be securely fixed. Vibration Damping – Helps absorb vibrations, reducing stress on the motor and surrounding components. Alignment Adjustment – Allows for easy positioning to maintain proper belt tension and shaft alignment with the blower fan. Structural Integrity – Prevents excessive movement or displacement of the motor during operation. Corrosion Resistance – Often made of powder-coated steel or aluminum to withstand AHU conditions. Types of Motor Base Plates Used in AHUs: Fixed Base Plates – Rigid mounts for direct motor attachment.
