Chain conveyors are used for moving products down an assembly line and/or around a manufacturing or warehousing facility. Chain conveyors are primarily used to transport heavy unit loads, e.g. pallets, grid boxes, and industrial containers. These conveyors can be single or double chain strand in configuration.There are two basic types of conveyors: powered and gravity. Powered conveyors have some sort of external energy source to keep the items on the conveyor moving, typically by manipulating the conveyor surface.Conveyor chain attachments are typically made from steel but scrapers made from multi-laminated beech are becoming increasingly common, especially in the cement, biomass and recycling industries.
