The hot water is heated at around 95 degrees celsius after passing through two carbon filters. As it is heated it does not need any further filtration and will exit out of the tap. Cold water goes through a slightly longer process to make sure it is free from bacteria and other unwanted chemicals.Most types have a small thermally-insulated tank with a heater which keeps the water in the hot tank. When the handle is pressed, cool tap water flows into the tank and displaces the near-boiling water, which flows out of the spout. On releasing the handle the valve closes and hot water stops flowing.A water dispenser, known as water cooler (if used for cooling only), is a machine that dispenses and often also cools or heats up water with a refrigeration unit. It is commonly located near the restroom due to closer access to plumbing. A drain line is also provided from the water cooler into the sewer system.
