A condensing unit is a group of components responsible for compressing and cooling the refrigerant fluid, performing heat exchange, and facilitating cooling of the indoor unit. The condensing unit is installed on the high-pressure side of the system and consists of interconnected compressors, condensers, and fans.Condensing unit (also called compressor unit) is the most important part of whole cold room system. A condensing unit typically is a high side assembly of a refrigeration system. It is an assembly of compressor, condenser, fan motor, controls and a mounting plate.The condenser removes heat from the hot refrigerant vapor gas vapor until it condenses into a saturated liquid state, a.k.a. condensation. After condensing, the refrigerant is a high-pressure, low-temperature liquid, at which point it's routed to the loop's expansion device.Condensing units (CDUs) are the outdoor HVAC/R units. Their main function is to condense refrigerant or other substances from their gaseous state to liquid state. The latent heat is then transferred to the condenser coolant.Three main types of condensers, based on the way they cool the refrigerant, are mostly used in HVAC systems; air-cooled, water-cooled and evaporative.The condensing unit is separated from the refrigerated cabinet in refrigeration systems. For air conditioning, it can be located on the outside of the room where external ventilation assists in cooling down the refrigerant fluid passing through the inside of the system.
