As the seeds move forward, the space decreases, creating intense mechanical pressure and friction. This "squeezes" the oil out through small slots in the barrel, while the dry "cake" or meal is pushed out of the end. Key Performance Insights The 12-Hour Duty Cycle: While many small machines are rated for 2-4 hours, a 2 HP industrial-grade motor is designed for extended runs. However, to maintain a 12-hour schedule, ensure the machine is in a well-ventilated area to prevent the motor from overheating. Output Ratios: While the input capacity is 20 kg/hr, your oil yield depends on the seed. For example: Peanuts: ~40-45% oil yield (8-9 liters/hr) Mustard: ~30-35% oil yield (6-7 liters/hr) Cold vs. Hot Press: Most 2 HP models come with a built-in heating element for the press chamber. Heating the seeds slightly (Hot Press) increases the flow and yield, whereas turning the heater off (Cold Press) preserves more nutrients but may reduce output slightly. Maintenance & Operation Tips Pre-Cleaning: Always ensure seeds are free of stones or metal fragments. A 2 HP motor is strong, but a stray pebble can chip the screw or the barrel. Moisture Content: Seeds should be well-dried (around 5-8% moisture). If the seeds are too damp, you'll get a "sludge" instead of clear oil.
