Inside the canister is a layer of oil and a few hundred popcorn kernels. When the heating element is plugged in or put to the "on" position, the oil heats up to 400 to 460 degrees Fahrenheit. The seeds will then begin to pop out of the metal canister and into the box, filling it up.Manufacturing Process. The product is produced by cleaning and heating kernels until the internal moisture expands and pops through the outer shell of the kernel, allowing the starch within to expand and cool. Popped corn can be coated or glazed in a rotating pan drum, if needed. Finally, the popcorns are packed.Popcorn machines are easy to use. They require only a few simple switches to operate and only two ingredients, popcorn kernels and oil, to make popcorn. Turn the heat and light switch to ON. Add oil and let heat for 3-4 minutes.
