A copper bonded earth rod is a grounding electrode made of a high-tensile, low-carbon steel core with a layer of 99.9% pure electrolytic copper molecularly bonded to its surface. This construction combines the mechanical strength of steel for deep driving into the ground with the superior electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance of copper. Corrosion Resistance: The molecularly bonded copper layer protects the steel core from rusting, even in harsh soil conditions like acidic or saline environments. High Tensile Strength: Unlike solid copper rods, these can be driven deep into tough, rocky, or compacted soils without bending or "mushrooming". Cost-Effectiveness: They provide performance similar to solid copper rods but at a significantly lower price point. Long Service Life: These rods are designed to last for decades, often outperforming galvanized steel rods which degrade rapidly underground.
