The Rotolactor is a largely automatic machine used for milking a large number of cows successively using a rotating platform. It was developed by the Borden Company in 1930, and is known as the "rotary milking parlor".Rotary parlors are like carousel rides for dairy cows. The milking stalls are arranged in a large circle on a platform that rotates slowlyIn a rotary milking system, the cows walk onto a slowly rotating platform. The milker puts on the cups and the cows are milked while the platform revolves. When a cycle is almost complete, the cups are automatically removed and the cow backs off the platform.A milking parlor is part of a building where cows are milked on a dairy farm. Cows are brought to the milking parlor to be milked and are then returned to a feeding and/or resting area. Cows may also be milked in their housing area using bucket milkers or a pipeline milking system.In a Rotary Parlor the cow stands on a circular raised platform, allowing you to attach them from below. The platform rotates very slowly, allowing cows to enter and exit the platform at regular intervals.
