It is an evergreen with dark green foliage, small flowers and round brown-grey cones with seed nuts inside. Oil Properties Cypress oil has a woody, slightly spicy and refreshing masculine smell. The oil is colorless to very pale yellow in color and watery in viscosity. Uses This Oil has been used to combat excessive perspiration (particularly feet), hemorrhoids, menorrhagia, oily skin, rheumatism, and varicose veins. Aromatherapists also commonly credit Cypress French with being a relaxing, nerve soothing essential oil. Therapeutic Properties Astringent, antiseptic, antispasmodic, deodorant, diuretic, haemostatic, hepatic, styptic, sudorific, vasoconstrictor, respiratory tonic . Blends Well With Bergamot, Fennel, Lavender (All), Lemon Tea Tree, Lemon Myrtle and Geranium, Cedarwood, Pine, Orange, Sandalwood, Clary Sage, Marjoram, Juniper, Rose, Jasmine, and Cardamom. Summary Cypress oil has a calming and soothing effect on the nerves, is valuable as a vasoconstrictor, useful in the treatment of excessive discharge of fluids and beneficial for the respiratory tract.
