Rubber moulding is a process that takes raw rubber compound and creates a final product in the desired geometry.To make your own mold, you'll need a rubber molding product, like Smooth-On or Polytek. You'll also need a disposable container with a lid, scissors, and a releasing agent, like Ease Release or Spray-On. First, spray your object with the release agent so the mold doesn't stick to it.Molding produces rubber parts by pressing a block of rubber into a metal cavity. The rubber inside of the cavity is then exposed to heat, activating a chemical reaction. The three most common methods of molding are rubber injection molding, compression molding, and transfer molding.
