A dust collector is a system used to enhance the quality of air released from industrial and commercial processes by collecting dust and other impurities from air or gas.Five common types of dust collection equipment are fabric filter baghouses, inertial separators (like mechanical cyclones), cartridge collectors, wet scrubbers, and electrostatic precipitators. Baghouse dust collectors come in various designs and are the most commonly used system because of their 99% efficiency.Depending on the dust characteristics, the correct CFM value should be approximately 100–200 feet per minute of air velocity multiplied by the cross-sectional area of the hood in square feet. Accurate measurement of the volume of air going through the baghouse is vital for adequate ventilation.
