Used for testing the abrasion resistance of aggregates. The machine consists of a rotating frame to support two steel cylinders complete with covers and locking device. The rotating frame is driven by a motor speed reducer and an automatic counter is included to preset the required number of revolutions.The LA abrasion machine is used to measure the degradation of mineral aggregate of standard gradings resulting from a combination of actions including abrasion or attrition, impact and grinding in a rotating steel drum containing a specified number of steel spheres.
