ER Collet Chuck: A very common and versatile tool holder that uses an ER collet to securely clamp tools with cylindrical shanks, such as end mills and drills. Different collet sizes, such as ER16 and ER32, accommodate various tool diameters. Side-Lock Holder (Weldon Holder): This holder uses a set screw to clamp a tool with a Weldon flat on its shank. It provides high clamping force and is ideal for heavy-duty milling applications where tool slippage must be prevented. Face Mill Holder (Shell Mill Holder): Designed to hold large milling cutters, known as face mills or shell mills. These holders feature a flat face and a pilot diameter that aligns with the cutter. Morse Taper Holder: A type of adapter that allows tools with a Morse taper shank (such as drills and reamers) to be used on a BT40 spindle. Hydraulic Tool Holder: Uses hydraulic fluid to clamp the tool shank, providing an extremely high and uniform clamping force. This results in excellent runout accuracy and vibration dampening, making them suitable for high-speed, high-precision applications. Shrink-Fit Holder: A heat-activated tool holder that shrinks to create an interference fit with the tool shank, offering superior accuracy and balance. Boring Bar Holder: A specialized holder for securing boring bars, which are used for internal diameter machining operations.
