Digital Photoelectric Colorimeter, 400-700 nm functions as a tool for scientists to measure colors in a laboratory between 400 nm and 700 nm. It contains a light emitting diode that produces white light and eight filters made of glass that span from 420 nm to 700 nm. The device operates in modes that measure the percentage of light that passes through a liquid or the amount of light that the liquid absorbs. There is a range for absorption that goes from 0 - 1.99. To detect light the machine uses a photodiode that resides inside a container protected from the environment. On the front a screen shows three digits to represent data. As a minimum requirement, the user must provide 1 ml of the substance for the test.
