Demineralisation Plants, DM Plant in India. Demineralisation is the process of removing mineral salts from water by using the ion exchange process. With most natural water sources it is possible to use Demineralisation and produce water of a higher quality than conventional distillation.Demineralized Water (DM Water) also known as Deionized Water, Water that has had its mineral ions removed. Because the majority of Water impurities are dissolved salts, deionization produces a high purity Water that is generally similar to distilled Water, and this process is quick and without scale buildup.A stream is initially treated with a strong acid cation (SAC) resin, which collects dissolved cations and releases hydrogen (H+) ions in exchange in two-bed demineralization. The mineral acid solution is subsequently sent to the resin bed for strong base anion (SBA).
