These nodules give ductile iron its characteristic properties, including flexibility and strength. Ductile iron pipe has excellent tensile strength, making it suitable for handling high-pressure applications. It can withstand internal pressures much higher than traditional cast iron pipes. Unlike traditional cast iron pipes, which are brittle, ductile iron pipes have a certain degree of flexibility. This flexibility allows them to withstand ground movement and shifting without cracking or breaking. .
