Electric overhead travelling cranes or EOT cranes are a common type of overhead crane, also called bridge cranes. They consist of parallel runways, much akin to rails of a railroad, with a travelling bridge spanning the gap. EOT cranes are specifically powered by electricity. An EOT crane is made up of several key components, including the hoist, trolley, bridge, columns, runway, end effectors, reinforced-steel cable, hook, master controllers, electrical control panel, DSL bus bars, radio remote control, and pendant.
