Our Floating Weir Skimmer (FWS) is often used to skim or remove floating stuff from the waters surface. The FWS acts like a waterfall----and anything floating and flow-able on the surface gets caught in the current going across the weir-or waterfall.A floating skimmer is a pipe assembly with swivel joints and two floaters. Floating skimmers are used to skim off liquid contaminants floating on the product. The floaters keeps the skimmers inlet opening just under the surface of the contaminated liquid, until the entire surface has been skimmed.An oil skimmer is a machine that removes floating oil and grease from liquid. The floating oil adheres to skimming media, such as a belt, tube, rope, mop, or disk. The media then runs back to the machine to be wiped clean. Weir style skimmers use a pump to collect floating oils.Types. There are three types of oil skimmers: Weir, Oleophilic and Suction.
