Galvalume is comprised of a steel sheet dipped in a coating of 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicone. The unique coating gives the steel greater protection from the elements, which allows it to outlast traditional galvanized steel.Galvalume is a roofing sheet that has a coating of zinc, silicon, and aluminum. All these coatings protect the metal and are the primary form of the steel made of oxidation. It protects the base metal and sacrificial metal coating.Galvalume is primarily used to protect iron-based alloys that are prone to rust. Galvalume-coated steel is better able to resist oxidation than plain carbon steel because the zinc and aluminum protect the underlying steel from the environment. The zinc also will more readily oxidize than the steel it contactsThe alloy-coated product contains 55% aluminium, 43.5% zinc and 1.5% silicon by weight.
