Treatment of Collected Liquid: The liquid containing the pollutants is typically treated or disposed of appropriately. Wet scrubbers are effective for removing various pollutants such as sulfur dioxide (SO2), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), ammonia (NH3), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and particulate matter (PM). They are commonly used in industrial settings, particularly in industries like chemical manufacturing, steel production, and power generation where emissions need to be controlled to comply with environmental regulations. There are different types of wet scrubbers, including: Venturi Scrubbers: These use the Venturi effect to create a high-velocity liquid stream to atomize and capture pollutants. Packed Bed Scrubbers: These contain a packing material (such as random packing or structured packing) over which the gas passes while being sprayed with the scrubbing liquid. Spray Tower Scrubbers: These consist of a tower packed with nozzles or plates that spray the liquid into the gas stream. Cyclonic Scrubbers: These use the centrifugal force to separate pollutants from the gas stream. Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages depending on factors such as the specific pollutants being treated, the volume of gas to be treated, and the space available for installation. The selection of the appropriate type of scrubber depends on the particular requirements of the application.
