Glass Tube Rotameter is a Variable Area Flow Meter. A rotameter consists of a tapered tube, typically madeA rotameter (variable area flow meter) is a flow meter that measures the volumetric flow of liquids and gases. There is no difference between a rotameter and a flow meter, and these terms are interchangeable.Air Flow Meters are basically mass flow meters, as they determine the air velocity and air pressure by measuring the mass flow of a medium, which is air in this case. The results of measuring the air velocity can be stored in the Air Flow Meter's memory, depending on the model. of glass, with a 'float' made of SS or PTFE. The differentila pressure across the annulus area is constant. The float moves through the tapered tube up and down with respect to fluid flow.
