piral Wound GasketDescription A Spiral Wound Gasket is a semi-metallic gasket designed to withstand high pressure and temperature conditions. It consists of a V-shaped metallic strip wound with a soft filler material, providing both resilience and sealing integrity. These gaskets are widely used in petrochemical, refinery, power, and process industries. Construction Metallic Strip Materials: Stainless Steel (SS 304, SS 316, SS 321, SS 347), Alloy 20, Monel, Inconel, Hastelloy Filler Materials: Graphite, PTFE, Mica, Ceramic (depending on service) Centering Ring: Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel (to ensure accurate positioning in the flange) Inner Ring (optional): Stainless Steel or Alloy (used to prevent inward buckling at high pressure/temperature) Types (per ASME B16.20) Basic Type (W): Metal + filler, used in tongue-and-groove flanges With Inner Ring (WI): Adds inner ring for high-pressure, high-temperature stability With Outer Ring (WR): Adds centering ring for standard raised face flanges With Inner & Outer Ring (WIR): Provides maximum strength and stability Standards & Compliance Design Standard: ASME B16.20 / API 601 / EN 1514-2 Flange Compatibility: ASME B16.5 / ASME B16.47 / DIN / EN / BS / IS standards Fire-Safe Approval: API 6FB (for certain materials) Size & Pressure Ratings Nominal Pipe Sizes (NPS): ½" to 60" (DN 15 – DN 1500) Pressure Class: ASME Class 150 to 2500 (PN 10 to PN 420) Thickness: Standard 3.2 mm, 4.5 mm, or 6.5 mm (depending on application) Operating Conditions Temperature Range: Graphite filler: -200°C to +500°C (oxidizing environment up to 450°C) PTFE filler: -200°C to +260°C Mica/Ceramic filler: Up to +1000°C (suitable for furnace/boiler service) Pressure Range: Vacuum to 250 bar (depending on class and construction) Key Features Resilient under cyclic loading of pressure and temperature Suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature sealing Available with inner and outer rings for precise centering and blowout resistance Compatible with a wide range of fluids (steam, oil, gas, hydrocarbons, chemicals) Reusable under certain conditions with proper inspection Applications Petrochemical and refinery units Power plants (steam, turbine, and boiler connections) Oil & Gas pipelines and offshore platforms Chemical processing plants Heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and valve bonnets
